SaaS made in Sweden

In short

Sweden's strengths are privacy VPNs and payments: Mullvad and OVPN are widely cited privacy-first VPN providers; Klarna and Trustly are major Swedish payment platforms; Cleura provides EU-sovereign cloud; and Lime CRM serves the Nordic CRM market. These are all companies headquartered in Sweden, but origin is only one signal: ownership, hosting region and CLOUD Act exposure are recorded separately on each listing, because a Swedish company can still route data through a US sub-processor.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are Swedish SaaS companies automatically hosted in Sweden?
No. Company origin and hosting region are independent signals, which is why we record them separately. Cleura hosts in Sweden, for example, but a Swedish-headquartered company can still place data with a non-Swedish or US sub-processor. Privacy VPNs in particular often run distributed server fleets across many countries by design. Check the hosting region and sub-processor list on each listing rather than inferring it from the company's location.
Why are Swedish privacy VPNs frequently recommended?
Mullvad and OVPN are Swedish-owned and built around data minimisation: no-logs policies, anonymous account options and published audits. Mullvad subscriptions start from €5/month. As with any VPN, the relevant signals are ownership, jurisdiction and the audited no-logs posture rather than server location alone, since VPN fleets are distributed by design. Each listing records ownership and CLOUD Act exposure so you can weigh them directly.
Does a Swedish company mean no US CLOUD Act exposure?
Not by itself. CLOUD Act reach follows corporate control and the sub-processor chain, not just where the head office sits. A Swedish-incorporated, Swedish-controlled vendor with no US services in the data path has a structurally weaker exposure profile, whereas a Swedish firm with US ownership or a US service in the path can remain exposed. Each listing shows the CLOUD Act exposure we assessed alongside the ownership signal.
