Belgian developer form-backend (form-to-email API) from Trampoline Software SRL; 20k+ customers, one-time-payment bundles, no UI.

In short

Formspark, in the Forms & surveys category, offers EU hosting with Ireland as its hosting location, but a US parent or sub-processor leaves material CLOUD Act exposure.

Assessment notes

Belgian developer form-backend service operated by Trampoline Software SRL (Mazy, enterprise number BE 0799.398.081, founded 2018, ~20k customers), sold as a no-UI form-to-email API on a one-time-payment bundle model; transparency is now genuinely strong for a vendor this size, with a signature-free public DPA, a named sub-processor table and an explicit commitment that all data stays in the EEA, in Ireland and Germany. The exposure is in the chain rather than the paperwork: form submissions, file storage and email delivery all sit on Amazon Web Services in Ireland, a US-owned hyperscaler at rest, and the optional spam layer routes submitter IPs and submission content to OOPSpam, Cloudflare Turnstile, Google reCAPTCHA and hCaptcha, with Sentry and Mapbox on the always-used list, so CLOUD Act exposure is material despite the EU incorporation and EU-only storage.

Overview

About Formspark

Formspark is a developer-focused form backend that handles servers, databases, and analytics so the developer keeps full control over markup and styling. Founded in 2018 and trusted by more than 20,000 customers across React, Vue, Next.js, WordPress, Webflow, and static-site setups, the service is positioned as a Formspree alternative for solo developers, agencies, and freelancers. The operating company is Trampoline Software SRL, Rue de Marsannay-la-Côte 16, 5032 Mazy, Belgium, enterprise number BE 0799.398.081, named on both the DPA and the GDPR page.

Compliance disclosure is unusually complete for a vendor this size, and all of it sits under /legal/: a DPA that applies to every customer at no extra cost and needs no signature, a named sub-processor table, terms of service, a privacy policy, and separate GDPR and CCPA pages. Both the DPA and the GDPR page state that everything Formspark holds stays in the European Economic Area, in Ireland and Germany, and the vendor commits to publishing sub-processor changes at least 30 days before a new vendor starts handling personal data.

The exposure is in the chain rather than in the paperwork. Amazon Web Services in Ireland provides cloud hosting, database, file storage and email delivery, so submissions, uploaded files and outbound mail sit at rest with a US-owned hyperscaler and there is no opt-out; Hetzner (Germany) handles IP-to-approximate-location lookup. The always-used US processors alongside AWS are OOPSpam for spam scoring, which receives submission content together with the submitter's email and IP address, Sentry for error reports and Mapbox for IP addresses. The anti-spam layer additionally offers Cloudflare Turnstile, Google reCAPTCHA and hCaptcha as per-form options, and each of those receives the submitter's IP address: Material.

Pricing is unusual and EU-buyer-friendly: the free tier covers 250 submissions across 10 forms, and the paid bundle is US$25 (currently 50% off from US$50) for 50,000 submissions, 100 forms, and unlimited team members on a one-time payment basis; data bundles do not expire, and there is no recurring subscription. Best fit: indie developers and small agencies who need a no-frills form-to-email backend with one-time-payment economics, a signature-free DPA and a named processor chain. Buyers who must keep submissions off a US-owned hyperscaler entirely should look at Formdesk (NL) or a self-hosted Formbricks build in this category instead.
