SaaS made in Netherlands

In short

The Netherlands is strongest in payments and privacy tooling: Adyen and Mollie in payments; StartMail and Soverin in private email; Surfshark in VPN; Simple Analytics in privacy-first web analytics; and Thalassa Cloud in hosting. These are all companies headquartered in the Netherlands, but origin is only one signal. Ownership, hosting region and CLOUD Act exposure are recorded separately on each listing, because a Dutch company can still route data through a US sub-processor.

Frequently asked questions

Are Dutch SaaS companies automatically hosted in the Netherlands?
No. Company origin and hosting region are independent signals, which is why we record them separately. Many Dutch vendors host domestically: Adyen hosts in Netherlands, for example. But a Dutch-headquartered company can still place data with a non-Dutch or US sub-processor, so check the hosting region and sub-processor list on each listing rather than inferring it from the company's location.
Does a Dutch company mean no US CLOUD Act exposure?
Not by itself. CLOUD Act reach follows corporate control and the sub-processor chain, not just where the head office sits. A Dutch-incorporated, Dutch-controlled vendor with no US services in the data path has a structurally weaker exposure profile, whereas a Dutch firm with US ownership or a US service in the path can remain exposed. StartMail, for instance, is recorded as CLOUD Act exposure: Minor, hosting in Netherlands. Each listing shows the exposure we assessed.
Which categories have the strongest Dutch options?
Payments (Adyen, Mollie) is the standout: both are globally significant Dutch payment platforms. Privacy tooling is the other strength: private email (StartMail, Soverin), VPN (Surfshark) and privacy-first analytics (Simple Analytics, hosted in Netherlands). The catalog also covers booking, forms, file sharing and project management from Dutch vendors.
