Are French SaaS companies automatically hosted in France?
No: company origin and hosting region are independent signals, which is why we record them separately. Many French vendors host domestically: OVHcloud hosts in France, for example. But a French-headquartered company can still place data with a non-French or US sub-processor, so check the hosting region and sub-processor list on each listing rather than inferring it from the company's location.
What is SecNumCloud and which French providers have it?
SecNumCloud is the French ANSSI qualification for trusted cloud services, with strict requirements on sovereignty and immunity from non-EU law. It is the most demanding sovereign-cloud credential in the French market. Several providers listed here pursue or hold it for specific offerings; because scope can be product-specific, and because the qualification sometimes sits with a provider's own hosting partner rather than with the provider itself, confirm the exact qualified service on each provider's listing and our SecNumCloud hub.
Does a French company mean no US CLOUD Act exposure?
Not by itself. CLOUD Act reach follows corporate control and the sub-processor chain, not just where the head office sits. A French-incorporated, French-controlled vendor with no US services in the data path has a structurally weaker exposure profile (OVHcloud is recorded as CLOUD Act exposure: None, hosting in France from €5/month), whereas a French firm with US ownership or a US service in the path can remain exposed.
